In the next round of our compatibility tests, we checked how special-purpose Samsung equipment handles Proget system functions. These devices are supposedly designed to work in the most difficult conditions – and as it turned out, they performed flawlessly in our tests.

What arrived at our lab?
The Galaxy XCover7 Pro smartphone and Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro tablet are designed for uniformed services, frontline workers, field teams, construction, and manufacturing. Both devices support Dual SIM, meet MIL-STD-810H standards, and are water, dust, and dirt resistant (IP68 rating). The displays are secured with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, which protects against scratches in everyday use.
The manufacturer has equipped the smartphone with feedback-reducing speakers, improving communication quality in noisy environments. The tablet, on the other hand, has dual hot-swap batteries that can be replaced without interrupting the device’s operation. In addition, it can be easily operated while wearing disposable gloves.

It is worth mentioning that the tested models belong to the Enterprise Edition line, which means measurable benefits for businesses: 7 years of system and security updates from the release date and the Knox Suite tool package for IT administrators.

We split the tests into two stages. First, we looked at the features we check for all devices, and then we checked out the options only available on Samsung devices.

Standard features
Application management
The processes of remote installation and removal of applications, as well as the creation of white and black lists, went smoothly. This will allow administrators to control the set of applications on devices – installing only those needed for work and blocking, for example, social networking sites or applications from suspicious sources.
Kiosk mode
Kiosk mode worked stably and predictably on both Samsung models. This feature is particularly valuable when the device must be used for a single task. For example, smartphones for production line workers can be configured to run only the quality control application.

Security policies
The devices complied with the rules imposed by Proget: the requirement to set a password, encryption, and blocking of selected functions. The proper functioning of security policies is essential, for example, in uniformed services – officers’ phones and tablets often store data requiring the highest level of protection.
Location and geofencing
The tests confirmed that Samsung devices correctly report their location and support geofencing. This means that the IT department can apply additional rules depending on the location, e.g., block the ability to take photos in a production hall, research center, or military base.

Level up – dedicated features
In the next stage, we’ve examined solutions available only for Samsung devices in Device Owner mode. All of them worked as expected:
- Samsung APN profile determines how the device connects to the Internet.
- SIM Pinning policy assigns a SIM card to a specific device – without knowing the PIN, it cannot be used in another device.
- Connectivity profile allows you to manage outgoing and incoming communications – calls, text messages, and data transmission. This enables you, for example, to restrict communication to business contacts only.
Partnership in practice: more than just tests
Samsung has been our technology partner for many years. Compatibility testing is the next stage in this partnership, as well as an opportunity to exchange experiences that enrich our projects. One of these is a solution that significantly increases safety and operational efficiency among uniformed services.
Device testing is not only about verifying compatibility with the Proget system. Above all, it is our responsibility to the market and customers who turn to us at the device selection stage with questions such as ‘what to choose’ and ‘will it work?’. As an MDM system manufacturer, we need to be aware of whether the fleet of devices that the customer wants to purchase will meet their requirements and offer a high level of security after implementation into the console. That is why the cooperation between Samsung and Proget is so important, as it has shown for many years that quality and security can complement each other.

Certified Samsung devices and the Proget system enable the use of ATAK (Android Team Awareness Kit/Tactical Assault Kit) software. This intuitive mapping application streamlines the supervision of missions carried out by soldiers, police, border guards, and search and rescue teams. ATAK allows you to track the location of people in the field, use interactive maps of the task area, and share information in real time.
The combination of the Proget system, Samsung devices, and the ATAK application creates a mobile command center fit for the 21st century.
Ready-to-use solution
The Galaxy XCover7 Pro smartphone and Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro tablet have fully passed Proget compatibility tests. All functionalities, both standard and dedicated to Samsung devices, work as expected. This means that this manufacturer’s equipment is fully ready for use in demanding business environments and the public sector.
